Teren ten przynale\u017cy do Polski przez 931 lat. W Opatowie by\u0142a pierwsza polska komandoria templariuszy za\u0142o\u017cona za czas\u00f3w Henryka Sandomierskiego, kt\u00f3ry uczestniczy\u0142 w krucjatach do Ziemi \u015awi\u0119tej u boku rycerzy-zakonnik\u00f3w. Pozosta\u0142o\u015bci\u0105 klasztoru templariuszy ma by\u0107 rzekomo kolegiata \u015bw.
